Metal Supermarkets Named to Franchise Times’ Top 400 List

Metal Supply Franchise Move Up the List of 400 Largest US Franchise Brands

TORONTO, Ontario – Metal Supermarkets announced today it has been again been named to the 2021 Franchise Times Top 400 list.

The metal supply franchise jumped 34 spots since last year’s ranking due to continued revenue growth. Over the last 5 years, Metal Supermarkets’ sales grew by 67%, surpassing $157 million. With 77 locations across the United States and 31 internationally, including 13 openings in 2021, the company is currently on pace to exceed $200 million in systemwide sales this year.

“As the leading supplier of small-quantity metals in the United States, we take pride in providing not only fast and reliable service within a niche market, but a superior customer experience with a problem-solving mentality,” said CEO Stephen Schober. “Our growth over the past year reflects the standard of work we do at Metal Supermarkets and our dedication to serving our customers. It is truly an honor to be recognized by Franchise Times.”

Known as the world’s largest supplier of small-quantity metals, Metal Supermarkets delivers a variety of products with speed and convenience with an emphasis on customer service. The brand’s development focus is primarily in the US, including markets across New England, the Midwest, Texas, and the Southwest. As an essential business, Metal Supermarkets occupies an important niche in the U.S. metal distribution industry and provides a recession-resistant, innovative, and durable opportunity for interested franchise investors. During the pandemic, the network saw strong sales growth due to their vast and varied customer base which includes other essential businesses that need metal on a recurring basis.

Previously the Top 200+, Franchise Times renamed its annual ranking of the 400 largest U.S.- based franchise systems by global systemwide sales to better encompass the biggest brands in franchising, along with promising young concepts in growth mode. The rigorous approach to research remains the same, said Franchise Times Editor in Chief Laura Michaels. The project is the result of a five-month research and reporting effort that leads to the most credible and objective franchise ranking available.
