Metal Supermarkets Signs Franchise Agreement to Introduce New Orleans to Speed, Variety and Convenience for Small-Quantity Metals

World’s Largest Supplier of Small-Quantity Metals Inks Franchise Deal with Local Entrepreneur to Open First Location in Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS – A game-changing force in metal supply will soon make its way to the New Orleans market.

Metal Supermarkets, the world’s largest supplier of small-quantity metals, announced today that it has signed a franchise agreement to bring a fast and convenient metal supply option to businesses and consumers south of Lake Pontchartrain.

The upcoming location will be the first to open in Louisiana. Metal Supermarkets New Orleans will offer over 8,000 types, shapes and grades of metal, cut to each customer’s exact specifications. Along with its convenience, speed and commitment to customer service, Metal Supermarkets will be the one-stop-shop for manufacturers, machinists, maintenance and repair, tool and die shops, hospitals, hotels, universities, schools, homeowners, artists, hobbyists and more in the New Orleans area.

“I, like many others in the area, have consistently struggled with obtaining cut to size, quality metals quickly so I know this store will benefit the many artists and contractors in the community,” said David Machado, incoming owner of the store. “The opportunity to begin this journey with Metal Supermarkets came at the right time for me. I believe in high standards, the continuous improvement to processes and systems and the value of a supportive team. Metal Supermarkets checks each one of those boxes.”

Machado joins the Metal Supermarkets network, bringing aviation industry experience as both a pilot in command and managerial roles. He considers his background in aviation a strong fit with his new career path because of the precision and dedication needed in both roles in order to ensure consistent outcomes. Machado identified the need for Metal Supermarkets in the region and is eager to provide metal solutions to other businesses in his community.

The deal with Machado comes amid a pivotal growth phase for Metal Supermarkets. With locations open across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, Metal Supermarkets is executing a strategic expansion plan to add 50 new locations during the next four years in targeted markets, including Austin, Boston, Detroit, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Sacramento and San Antonio. Designated an essential business, Metal Supermarkets provides a recession-resistant, innovative and durable opportunity for interested franchise investors.

“David is the perfect fit to take on the New Orleans market,” said Stephen Schober, President & CEO of Metal Supermarkets. “His willpower and drive for success will be integral in our entrance into Louisiana. Research has indicated a strong demand for our business in the area and we’re ready to support David in servicing this market, while upholding our high standards.”

Metal Supermarkets is actively awarding locations to qualified individuals like Machado who have strong customer service experience. As the concept has grown in recent years, the Metal Supermarkets franchise opportunity is best suited for the owner-operator franchisee who is looking to build an income and create a lasting, profitable business in their local market. The moderate investment range for a Metal Supermarkets location is between $216,500 to $403,000, and qualified owners must have a minimum of $150,000 in liquid capital to be considered. Qualified U.S. military veterans may be able take advantage of a $5,000 reduction off the initial franchise fee.
